The Halliday Way – March Update

At the time of writing this newsletter it has been 4 weeks since the government put the United Kingdom on lockdown. Which means we are 4 weeks closer to the lockdown being lifted, at time like these it is so important to take positives from the negative situations.

The team have now all settled into the working from home life, although there isn’t as much business to be done the team are all finding ways to keep busy. Lynne has successfully passed her Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime exam. Jamie has been busy studying for his propertymark level 6 in property management. The whole team has been watching Rightmove’s webinars on a daily basis. Austin has been organising weekly quiz’s for the team to keep the brains in check. Mark is busy keeping all of his landlords and tenants up to date with the latest regulations from the government. Marie, Lynne and Grant  are keeping the sales side of things moving and getting sales across the line where possible. Austin is continuing with the day to day running of the business as well as virtual valuations via FaceTime and Zoom. The team are also keeping in touch with each other through Whatsapp and weekly meetings on Zoom.

“We first met Austin when he was a teenager helping his Dad on the building site that was to become our home – and so when Austin set up Halliday Homes we didn’t have any hesitation in going with someone who would understand the property we were selling and the level of customer service we knew we would get with a Halliday. Our path to our new home wasn’t as smooth as planned – it took us a long time to find properties that worked for our family, the first house we had an offer accepted on fell through and threatened the sale of our own property, and I was unfortunately unwell during part of the process. However, throughout it all, Austin and the team were fantastic. The house was on the market and being viewed within a week of deciding to sell, and we had a strong offer within 72 hours of being on the market, which we accepted. Despite the first house we offered on falling through, everyone at Halliday’s worked hard to keep the sale of our home in play, and supported us as we found a new house to buy. It is nailbiting making what is one of the biggest decisions in your life and the team were always happy to take a call and listen to both the practical and emotional parts of the process. When I saw how beautifully presented our home was in the brochure I almost changed my mind! The team were also great when we were house hunting – the level of customer service outstripped the competition – and I felt we were not just footfall for viewings but that the team took time to understand what we were looking for – down to Austin even arranging for his Mum to show us round a house we thought might work. We particularly liked the mix of Halliday’s being very professional yet also family orientated. Marie, Mark and Grant were always happy to answer questions or help us make decisions along the way and we really liked that you get the same excellent level of service whoever you speak to. While we do not intend to move for a very long time [!] when we do it will be with Halliday’s and we wouldn’t hesitate in suggesting them to others.”

Halliday Homes helped us sell our flat over winter time, a challenging time of year. Their local knowledge, presence in town, the viewings that their professional staff carried out and understanding how to best get our flat sold were key to their success in selling our flat so quickly. They handled a large amount of viewings in a short space of time and we were really grateful for their efforts. Jamie went the extra mile to provide a viewing by video for a viewer who couldn’t attend. That person went on to buy our property. We were absolutely delighted with Halliday and their exceptional service. We found that other estate agents either didn’t have that local knowledge and presence, weren’t prepared to do viewings or were domineering with their views on our property. Hallidays were like a breath of fresh air, offering a , friendly, professional service and have a great, positive attitude. My only hope is they will extend to Edinburgh by the time I need to sell this house!

Linlithgow – December 2019

224 Springfield Road, Linlithgow – To Let For £775 pcm

A well presented two bedroom semi-detached property, situated within the popular Springfield area of Linlithgow. The property is available on a part-furnished basis.

The modern accommodation comprises; welcoming reception hall, box room, bright and spacious lounge, kitchen/diner with range of appliances to include electric oven/gas hob, washing machine and fridge freezer.  On the first floor there are two double bedrooms with the master benefitting from fitted storage and a family bathroom.  Warmth is provided by gas central heating and double glazing.

Externally there are well maintained gardens to the front and rear.  The front has an area of lawn and  driveway for ample off street parking.  While the rear, which is bounded by fencing affording the plot privacy, has a single garage, lawn and patio seating area.

The entrance to your home should make a great first impression; if its a mess of wheelie bins and weeds you are missing a trick. A driveway isn’t just a carpark, it’s a great way to add ‘kerb appeal’. The entrance is the first part of your home people will see, so make sure you are leading from the front.
