The Halliday Way – October Update

That time of year again, moving into November and with Christmas on the minds of so many people and COVID back on the rise we are bound to see the property market start to slow down. However although we are not receiving as many enquiries as we were, we are still seeing many motivated buyers who are ready to move.
So how are those October figures looking? We cannot lie it was a good month. Bridge of Allan brought 14 new properties to the market and agreed 17 sales, with Linlithgow listing 7 new properties and agreeing sales on 16.

“Exceptional People, Properties and Service”

Will it sell?

During lockdown we posted some tips and tricks on how to make your house more sellable during a quiet time, now these tricks are relevant all year round however we like to stress their importance in quieter times. I have broken each tip down into points below.

  1. Lighting, making sure your property is well lit is key, as lighting choices can make or break a room. Energy saving bulbs are great to save energy but light rooms poorly and give of a yellow hue to the room. Our favourite are LED bulbs that can be dimmed if need be. In terms of light fixture it is important they match the style of the property.
  2. Clutter, decluttering makes a massive impact, look and see how well you are utilising the space that your home offers. If you do not use it then potential buyers will need be able to see past your clutter.
  3. Kerb appeal, many viewers will view the outside of your property and make a decision before even taking a step inside. Tidy up the garden, put in some new flowers, clean the windows, all of these small things go a long way.
